Book Club - Mental Health Musings

We are taking a different approach to book clubs - every three months, we will select a specific topic important to those of us in Perinatal Mental Health and read one (or more) books on that topic. The discussion will focus on the topic rather than the book itself. You are free to choose any book or select one from our recommended list. Then, we will get together to share our newfound knowledge and discuss the topic in-depth.

There is no cost for this group. Our first meetup will be our introductory launch!

Tuesday, September 24th

Topic #2: Incorporating Anti-Racist/Anti Oppressive Work Into Your Practice

Suggested reading for July - September!

CPMHT suggests 5 books, different in length, genre, and focus, prioritizing books by non-white, non-cishet, and disabled authors. We also try to ensure that these are topics that are relevant to you, but also that your local library might carry at least a few options. All reading is valid: Audiobooks, in print, or on a screen.

In addition to this reading challenge, there will be a virtual book club hosted on Zoom in September.

Learn more about each book and join us in the Storygraph community to interact with each other, make book suggestions, and track your progress as we read!
